EMILY HELLER NEW COMEDY ALBUM 'PASTA'
OUT TODAY ON KILL ROCK STARS
NEW VIDEO FOR ALBUM TRACK “LEASHES” BELOW
EMILY HELLER ON THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN
Comedian EMILY HELLER releases her new album, PASTA on NOVEMBER 19 on KILL ROCK STARS. A fit follow-up to her KRS debut, GOOD FOR HER, Pasta amplifies her singular comedic voice and vision in all the right ways. Recorded live in Portland, Oregon, Emily’s set has the casual, friendly feel of a hang with your best friend – whether that’s at a bar or your couch – anywhere you can share caustic barbs and bitter truths about your life and the weird world you’re surrounded with. Emily is effortlessly and fearlessly funny as she goes over her need for therapy, dealing with slightly invasive personal trainers, kids who deserve to be on leashes, the joys and perils of romantic relationships, and more. It’s the perfect comedic blend of the intensely personal yet instantly relatable.

SF Sketchfest once again has teamed up with 826 Valencia, a nonprofit organization that provides free writing, tutoring and publishing programs to under-resourced students in San Francisco. Founded by educator Ninive Calegari and author Dave Eggers, 826 Valencia comprises two writing centers (a flagship location in the Mission District and a new center in the Tenderloin neighborhood) and three satellite classrooms in Buena Vista Horace Mann K-8, Everett Middle School, and Mission School. This year 826 Valencia will be celebrating its 17th anniversary and, as part of the official festival program, SF Sketchfest will host a to-be-announced benefit show.
The festival will also be staging a fundraiser for Bay Area comedian, Mikey Walz, who learned back in October that he has cancer. (On Halloween, in order to remove the soft tissue cancer in his left leg and save his life, Mikey had it amputated.) Sudden Pirate: A Comedy Show Benefit for Mikey Walz will feature Mikey’s closest comedy friends doing stand-up, along with a closing set by Mikey himself.
Find the SF Sketchfest 2019 schedule at www.sfsketchfest.com. Lineups are subject to change.

COMEDY DUO FRANGELA DEBUT COMEDY ALBUM RESIST!
OUT TODAY ON KILL ROCK STARS
HEAR NEW ALBUM TRACKS BELOW
Comedy duo FRANGELA release their debut comedy album, RESIST! today on KILL ROCK STARS. RESIST! is an album that’s pointed and hilarious in equal measure and Frangela is everything that political comedy should be in 2018: two women speaking truth to power, stoking the flames of resistance, bringing together likeminded people for a common cause, and wondering why in the hell green bean casserole is a thing. RESIST! was recorded in front of an appropriately raucous audience as Frangela brought a fast-paced, wickedly funny spin through our present day agonies, from politics and protests to healthcare and toga parties. Frances Callier and Angela V. Shelton are fired up and want you to be, too!
Currently, Frangela can be seen in their new TV show, “Me Time with Frangela” and heard on their weekly podcast, “The Final Word”. You can also find Frangela as regulars on Stephanie Miller’s Sexy Liberal Radio Show and Sexy Liberal Tour.

The Wine Country Spoken Word Festival brings a weekend of fun to Petaluma, California on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 19-21 featuring performances by comedians, storytellers and poets – plus panels, workshops, master classes – and more.
Those scheduled to perform include the Bay Area’s own W. Kamau Bell (comedian and Emmy Award-winning host of CNN’s United Shades of America) and Zahra Noorbaksh (comedian, host of Good Muslim/Bad Muslim) plus national acts Elizabeth Ellis (award-winning storyteller), Bil Lepp (5-time Champ West Virginia Liars Competition), Steve Connell (performed for President Obama and the U.N.) and Denice Frohman (Women of the World Poetry Slam Champion). Now in its 2nd year, this is the only festival of its kind as the Gitlit crowd meets PoetrySlam meets The Moth for a weekend of comedy, storytelling, poetry, panels, workshops and more at The Wine Country Spoken Word Festival.
The Mystic Theater in downtown Petaluma hosts performances by the headliners on Friday night with Steve Connell, Bil Lepp and Zahra Noorbaksh, and on Saturday night with W. Kamau Bell, Elizabeth Ellis and Denice Frohman. On Saturday morning and afternoon, The Hotel Petaluma hosts the headliners in intimate events including candid conversations and classes. The festival concludes on Sunday, October 21 when The Storytelling Association hosts panel discussions, workshops, traditional tales for adults, swap/slam sessions, and more.
Festival producers Dave and Juliet Pokorny are proud to host the Wine Country Spoken Word Festival in Petaluma where they have been building the storytelling community over the past decade. They look forward to hosting a celebration of the spoken word to bring together the East Bay, SF, Marin, the North Bay and the Wine Country for a weekend of entertainment and fun in Petaluma.
Advance tickets are on sale now and sold separately for each event allowing festival goers to create their own festival.

The Wine Country Spoken Word Festival launched in 2017 and it was one to remember. The festival was scheduled for the weekend after the Tubbs fires began. By the start of the festival (on Friday, October 13th!) the largest wildfire in the history of Sonoma County had put thousands of people out of their homes, but instead of canceling the festival, local organizers Juliet and Dave Pokorny forged ahead.
“We made a decision on that Friday the 13th, that this community needed a place to gather and spoken word artists and storytellers have always been a reason for communities to gather. It is at the core of who we are as people. Without story and personal connection we have lost,” said Dave, co-producer of the event. The Inaugural Wine Country Spoken Word Festival persevered, the Pokornys (and a dozen or so volunteers) pulled it off, over 30 spoken word artists, from all over the country, arrived in the Wine Country, they came to help in the best way they could.
Now in its second year, The Wine Country Spoken Word Festival looks forward to hosting amazing talent for a weekend of stories, comedy, workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions to bring audiences throughout the East Bay, SF, Marin, the North Bay, and Wine Country together for a weekend of entertainment in Petaluma.

Petaluma is a town built on community and stories. It was 2010 when Dave and Juliet Pokorny kicked off the North Bay’s first StorySlam in downtown Petaluma and they have been building that amazing storytelling community ever since. Dave and Juliet are proud to produce the 2nd Inaugural Wine Country Spoken Word Festival to celebrate the art as local storytellers and national and international spoken word artists come to Petaluma to celebrate storytelling. This is the only festival of its kind in the country as the Gitlit crowd meets PoetrySlam meets The Moth at the Wine Country Spoken Word Festival!
