“This is comedy without a punchline (my favorite) from two dry-witted absurdists — a deadpan send-up of the artisanal-everything trend.” – WNYC

“Boasting a hilariously pretentious picture of Mirman and Benjamin and a Fifty Shades Of Grey quote on its “about” page, Flotsam is also a functioning online store that only sells three items: “mystery sacks” of various sizes filled with items hand-selected by Mirman and Benjamin and shipped within 6-8 weeks, “as our curation process can not be hurried.”  - A.V. Club

“An entirely new concept in celebrity shopping collaboration. Available in small, medium and large, these unknowable bags offer consumers and fans a chance to own an artisanal item that has been “hand conceived” using “positive sourcing” methods. But what does this all mean?” – New York Observer

QUIET COMPANY ANNOUNCE ‘TRANSGRESSOR’ ALBUM RELEASE + “SEVEN HELLS” SONG STREAM

Transgressor Album Cover sm

QUIET COMPANY announce the release of their highly anticipated fourth full length, ‘TRANSGRESSOR,’ available FEBRUARY 24 via MODERN OUTSIDER (The Crookes).  Mixed by Tim Palmer (The Cure, U2, Pearl Jam) and produced by Matt Noveskey (Blue October) ‘Transgressor’ is Quiet Company’s proper follow up to ‘We Are All Where We Belong’ which hit #7 on iTunes and earned the band TEN Austin Music Awards including Band of the Year, Album of the Year, Rock Band of the Year, Indie Band of the Year and Song of the Year.

Through the release of three LPs and endless touring, Quiet Company have made fans across the nation with their energetic live shows and their anthemic, dynamic, indie rock which critics have called a mix of The Beatles, Death Cab for Cutie, Arcade Fire and Weezer. They’ve been profiled everywhere from The New York Times, TIME, NPR, Last Call with Carson Daly, Paste, an Austin Chronicle cover story and beyond.

After an amazing year on the road in 2013, which included festival sets at ACL, NXNE, CMJ and more, Quiet Company went into The Orb studio in Austin to create ‘Transgressor,’ their most explosive and exposed collection of songs to date.  Recorded in 14 intense days and live tracked, the band captured a guitar-driven larger-than-life sound with frontman Taylor Muse’s characteristically introspective writing style in full force, telling of love, despair, pain and redemption, reflecting on his marriage, from burgeoning young love to a relationship tested through time.

Transgressor’ will be available on vinyl with 2 bonus tracks + download card, and on cd and digital. Pre-sales on the Quiet Company site come with exclusive ALBUM INSIDER EXPERIENCE including demos, interviews & video from the studio, artwork design, B-sides & more.  More info HERE.

BOB ODENKIRK DEBUT STANDUP ALBUM ‘AMATEUR HOUR’ AVAILABLE ON AST RECORDS TUESDAY NOVEMBER 25

STREAM TWO NEW ALBUM TRACKS NOW
Bob Odenkirk.cover.sm

BOB ODENKIRK is many things in the comedy world; the co-creator and co-star of HBO’s Emmy nominated cult comedy series Mr Show, a writer for Saturday Night Live and Get a Life, co-creator and writer for Tenacious D, producer of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!… the list goes on.  To that list he can now add the release of his debut stand up album ‘AMATEUR HOUR’ out next TUESDAY NOVEMBER 25 on ASPECIALTHING RECORDS.  In a rare stand up setting, Bob took to the stage armed with jokes on paper, a wastebasket and a little over an hour of pre-show prep, and brought the audience into his intimate, imaginative comedy world.  Recorded at The NerdMelt Showroom in LA, ‘Amateur Hour’ is bookended by an opening set from Brandon Wardell and ends with four amazing bonus tracks from Odenkirk as 89 year old comedy promoter Sir Lev Gravier.  In between, Odenkirk revels in thoughts about the internet, television, his “to don’t do list,” the Monkees, his kids, and aiming for “a tight zero.”

While Odenkirk’s TV roles are too many to mention, his most recent include roles on Fargo,  as Breaking Bad’s criminal lawyer Saul Goodman and its upcoming spin-off series Better Call Saul.  He has directed three films: Melvin Goes to Dinner (2003), Let’s Go to Prison (2006) and The Brothers Solomon (2007). His new book “A Load Of Hooey” is out now.

ASPECIALTHING RECORDS RELEASING NEW COMEDY ALBUMS: ANDY PETERS, BARRY ROTHBART, PAUL DANKE

ASPECIALTHING RECORDS ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THREE NEW COMEDY ALBUMS ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11 FROM ANDY PETERS, BARRY ROTHBART and PAUL DANKE

ANDY PETERS ‘EXCLAMATION MARK QUESTION POINT’Print
The debut album ‘EXCLAMATION MARK QUESTION POINT’ from comedian ANDY PETERS is more bootleg than traditional stand-up album as Andy recorded only one show, one night at the intimate The Virgil in LA. The album features a bouncy mix of Andy’s dive-in-head-first approach to comedy as he litters the show with playful self-deprecating bits, a healthy dose of “screaming at strangers” and a nonstop stream of riffs. The album was produced by CleftClips (producer of long-running independent shows such as The Super Serious Show and Hot Tub With Kurt & Kristen).

BARRY ROTHBART ‘STREETS OF FIRE’
BarryRothbart.cover.sm
Best known for his roles in the feature film “The Wolf of Wall Street,” CONAN, and MTV’s Punk’d, BARRY ROTHBART is an accomplished stand-up comic featured in Variety’s “10 Comics To Watch” who brings you into his weird world on his masterpiece of a debut album, ‘STREETS OF FIRE.’ Recorded live in Atlanta this spring, Barry mines humor from his quirks and insecurities with a flair and confidence rarely seen in modern comedy.

PAUL DANKE ‘DANK’
PaulDanke.cover.sm
Recorded in one take, completely unedited in front of a live audience at Nerdmelt, this is PAUL DANKE’s debut album ‘DANK.’ Facts about the album: the oldest track on ‘Dank’ is “Monster,” a joke he couldn’t pull off when he wrote it in 2006, and the newest is the two week old “Dunk,” the crowd demanded an encore, and there is a Green Day inspired hidden track. Danke is an underground comedy darling recognized by Patton Oswalt as a comic to watch. He is also a member of LA’s The Comedy Garage and has written for MTV, A&E, WE, Earwolf, Funny or Die, and the comedy magazine Savage Henry.
