ANDREW KENNY (AMERICAN ANALOG SET, THE WOODEN BIRDS) PREMIERES  “LONG TIME TO LOSE IT” FROM ‘TWO STEP’ ORIGINAL FILMSCORE

Two Step Filmscore art

ANDREW KENNY, frontman/founder of AMERICAN ANALOG SET and THE WOODEN BIRDS, releases his first new music in four years with his original score for the feature film TWO STEP.   In advance of the highly anticipated theatrical release of “Two Step” next week, BrooklynVegan has the premiere of “Long Time To Lose It” from the original filmscore.

Listen to “Long Time To Lose It” HERE

“Long Time To Lose It” piano version was recorded live by Kenny in his livingroom in Austin with his grandmother’s piano.  It’s a stripped down, achingly beautiful version of the song and a powerful closer to the film.  The song will be available on Kenny’s original score for the film “Two Step” to be released on iTunes on July 31 coinciding with the theatrical release of “Two Step” in NYC.

Written and directed by Alex R. Johnson, “Two Step” is a slow-burn thriller which centers around James, a directionless college dropout, and Webb, a career criminal with his back against the wall, as their lives violently collide when a quick, anonymous phone scam turns prolonged, bloody and deeply personal.

ADAM RESNICK (LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN) TO RELEASE MEMOIRS – ‘WILL NOT ATTEND’ AVAILABLE IN PAPERBACK JULY 28

Adam Resnick_book cover

“an anti-social work of art” – ROLLING STONE
“a biting, darkly hilarious collection” – CHICAGO TRIBUNE
“a gruff, wry paean to life’s indignities” –  WASHINGTON POST

Emmy Award-winning writer ADAM RESNICK (Late Night with David Letterman, The Larry Sanders Show, Get a Life, Saturday Night Live, Cabin Boy) releases his highly-praised collection of personal essays WILL NOT ATTEND: LIVELY STORIES OF DETACHMENT AND ISOLATION’ in paperback this month.  Upon its release in hardcover, ROLLING STONE hailed WILL NOT ATTEND as “the year’s funniest memoir,” while it made BEST OF lists including The AV CLUB and CHICAGO TRIBUNE and BOOKLIST heralded Resnick as an “author at the top of his game.”

In fact, rave reviews came in from all over including Resnick’s former boss DAVID LETTERMAN who said “These Adam Resnick stories are great.  You read one and think, That was so well done, maybe I’ll read another. You think, The next one can’t be as good, and it’s even better. I hope you read this book. It’s funny, smart and thoughtful. I loved it.”

And BOB ODENKIRK says: “Adam Resnick is one of the funniest writers I’ve ever known, and he proves it big-time in this acid-swaddled memoir. You will laugh reading this book, I swear to Christ Almighty. Adam comes by his misanthropy honestly and bravely—and his continued existence is a tribute to the soul-nourishing qualities of an unrelenting, unforgiving, and hilarious outlook.”

And from the mouth of JON STEWART, “Damn, this book is good.”

WILL NOT ATTEND is available in paperback TUESDAY, JULY 28.

BETTER. DUMBER. FASTER. WITH KURT BRAUNOHLER & THE LOVE BUTT TOUR

Screen shot 2015-07-01 at 3.05.47 PM

Known for his earnest and hilarious attempts to insert moments of absurdity into the world in order to make it a better place for all to live, comedian Kurt Braunohler has announced his next adventure.  This week Kurt sets out to drive a double sided derriere across the U.S. for his new Comedy Central pilot “Better. Dumber. Faster. with Kurt Braunohler.”

In his words:

The entire journey is a part of a pilot I’m making for Comedy Central called, “Better. Dumber. Faster. with Kurt Braunohler”. The show is all about inserting absurdity into stranger’s lives to make this bleak world a little bit brighter. So we’re driving a butt across America. For no other reason than it’s dumb and funny and hopefully will surprise people. I will be joined on the journey by my co-creator and show runner, Scotty Landes, and my wife, Lauren Cook.

I have no idea what this will be like. It’s a large, flat-bed truck I’ll be driving. I’ve never driven a large, flat-bed truck. Much less a large, flat-bed truck with a giant butt on it. So here’s our proposed route – who knows if we’ll be able to stick to this schedule. We’re gonna try. We’re dropping the butt off in my mom’s driveway in New Jersey. She is not aware of this yet.
