Indie dance duo MATT AND KIM bring their high energy live show to THE GREAT NORTHERN NICOLLET MALL for a FREE, ALL AGES concert next THURSDAY, JANAURY 31. The Brooklyn duo are known for infectious beat-driven anthems and explosive live shows and they are ready to bring dance-ready hits from their back catalog and songs from their newest album ALMOST EVERYDAY to the stage in Minneapolis.
Matt (Johnson, keys) and Kim (Schifino, drums) have been releasing albums and touring together since meeting as art students in Brooklyn. Their newest album ALMOST EVERYDAY (FADER Label) was written during Kim’s extensive recovery after an onstage injury in early 2017 sidelined the band for the year. They used that time to create one of their most personal albums to date. For the first time ever, friends contributed to the album, guest vocalists include: Mark Hoppus (blink-182), Kevin Morby, Santigold, SWMRS, Flosstradamus, Clairo, King Tuff — and more!

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their sophomore album GRAND, Matt and Kim just released GRAND on limited edition vinyl. Recorded by the duo in Matt’s childhood home in VT, lead album track “Daylight” is certified RIAA platinum and the music video for album track “Lessons Learned” featured the daring duo stripping in NYC’s Times Square and won the Breakthrough Video Award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
In addition to multiple successful album releases, Matt and Kim have become the go-to live band for raw exuberance and dance-ready anthems. They won the mtvU Woodie Award for “Best Live Performance,” have performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sold-out headlining tours across North America, stole the show at multiple festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands and wowed fans around the globe. They are also viral video stars with 52M YouTube views and counting!
