EX-TAKING BACK SUNDAY’S FRED MASCHERINO & ORGATROID’S JASON DANIELLO
RELEASE NEW COLLABORATION, LIMITED EDITION 10"
FEATURING TWO TRACKS “CARE 4 U” AND “DARKEST OF DAYS”
FRED MASCHERINO (ex-Taking Back Sunday, The Color Fred) and JASON DANIELLO (ORGATROID, Cantina Acres) announce the release of their debut collaboration. Spawned from a clip of Jason playing ukulele which Fred heard, the two longtime friends co-created two new songs, “Care 4 U” featuring Fred on lead vocals and “Darkest Of Days” featuring Jason on lead vocals. Both were recorded and produced by David Elliot Johnson. The tracks are available digitally and also on limited edition 10" vinyl via the Organic Vinyl label.
Limited to just under 30 copies, each record will be numbered and signed by both Fred and Jason.

Songwriters and longtime friends Fred and Jason met in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1997 when their bands played a show at The Dingo Bar and the two kept in touch over the past 20+ years. Recently, Fred heard Jason play a ukulele clip on his IG page and asked for a recording of it. Jason sent it to Fred who then rearranged it a bit and layered vocals over the top of it. Jason then produced it with a Moog Matriarch, a Mellotron, and added some harmony vocals to it. The track made it to friend Evan Bradford who mixed and mastered it, and thus, “Care 4 U” was created and the split single took shape.
SF SKETCHFEST PRESENTS “PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE” LIVE WITH AN ALL-STAR CAST INCLUDING DANA GOULD, MARIA BAMFORD, BOB ODENKIRK, LARAINE NEWMAN, BOBCAT GOLDTHWAIT & MORE ON THE VIRTUAL STAGE
THURSDAY OCTOBER 29, 6PM PT / 9PM ET
SF SKETCHFEST, the San Francisco Comedy Festival, presents “Plan 9 From Outer Space” live on the virtual stage, Thursday, October 29. While the long-running comedy festival is on hold due to the pandemic, SF Sketchfest producers along with comedian, television writer, and Ed Wood super fan Dana Gould (The Simpsons, Stan Against Evil) bring a special adaptation of the screenplay of Wood’s classic film Plan 9 From Outer Space to life on Halloween Week. The event features an original cast member, a real prop flying saucer which was used on set in Ed Wood’s shoot, plus wry stage directions and a stacked cast of talent including Kat Aagesen, Deborah Baker Jr., Maria Bamford, Bobcat Goldthwait, Dana Gould, David Koechner, Laraine Newman, Oscar Nunez, Bob Odenkirk, Jonah Ray, Paul F. Tompkins, Janet Varney, Baron Vaughn and Gary Anthony Williams, miniature visual effects by Mike Carano and musical accompaniment by Eban Schletter, all paying tribute to the beloved film’s, shall we say, quirkier qualities.
Tickets are $10 and on sale now at sfsketchfest.com
Originally titled “Grave Robbers from Outer Space,” Wood’s 1959 science-fiction “masterpiece” follows aliens who utilize a plan to reanimate earth’s dead in order to stop the building of a doomsday weapon. Don’t miss this “so-bad it’s good” staple from the B-movie canon like you’ve never seen it before, recreated for your viewing pleasure by a bunch of people who ought to know better.

ELECTRONIC DUO ORGATROID RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR “HOW WAS I TO KNOW”
‘FUTURE YOUTH’ EP OUT NOW ON DELAYED RECORDS
On the heels of the release of their debut ‘FUTURE YOUTH’ EP (DELAYED RECORDS), electronic duo ORGATROID release the video for their new single “HOW WAS I TO KNOW”. A departure from the instrumentals found on the EP, “How Was I To Know” is the duo’s only track with vocals, but like their previous releases, it is absolutely transportive.
“How Was I To Know” takes the listener somewhere into the vast universe where David Bowie is eating sandwiches with the Little Prince. They are sitting back and sharing theories on what comes next. As they sit and ponder existence, a comet passes by playing “How Was I to Know”. This song is about acceptance and trying to understand things that aren’t always clear. It is about uncertainty and embracing change so you can push through those moments. David Bowie heard the song and knew all of this to be true. The Little Prince just asked if he was going to eat the rest of his sandwich and pickle.

Their debut release, the ‘Future Youth’ EP, is out now on Delayed Records and features singles “(That Used To Be A) Beautiful Field” and “Metrotextual” plus a bonus track remix of Mixhell, Joe Goddard and Mutado Pintado’s “Strong and Wrong”.
“The lush sonic landscapes sometimes feature pulsing beats; other times, the sounds are more airy and ethereal. But their consistently unifying elements are sturdy melodic lines and an emotionally evocative vibe.” – Mountain Xpress
