DAN TELFER announces the release of his new comedy album ‘OCEAN OF PANIC’out this FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2 on ASPECIALTHING RECORDS. The Chicago-raised, LA-based comedian released his debut ‘Fossil Record’ EP in 2010, which included “The Best Dinosaur,” a runaway hit viral video. Dan followed up with 2012’s excellent‘Tendrils of Ruin’ LP, both on aspecialthing.  On his new album, Dan talks raccoon attacks in LA, a super creepy purchase of a gargoyle in Indiana, Scott Baio, muggings gone wrong, and homeless heroes.

Dan Telfer has been writing and performing comedy for over 15 years and is currently on the creative team for the Emmy award winning Comedy Central show @midnight. As a stand-up comic he has toured as an opener for Maria Bamford, Brian Posehn and Patton Oswalt, and was one of Last Comic Standing’s Top 100 Comedians of 2015.  Dan has also performed at “Best of the Fest” in the Chicago Just For Laughs Festival, Montreal’s ”Talk of the Fest,” and the ”New Faces”showcases at both festivals. Dan’s writing has appeared in Paste Magazine, The A.V. Club, and the official book based on the TV Show, “Mad Men: The Illustrated World.”

The 8th annual EUGENE MIRMAN COMEDY FESTIVAL happens this weekend! The 2015 festival kicks off on Friday with shows through the weekend at the Bell House and Union Hall in Brooklyn and tops off with a very special StarTalk Live at the Beacon Theater on Monday night.

The fest features namessake/curator/comedy host extraordinaire Eugene Mirmanplus an all-star cast of comedians and actors including John Hodgman, Ira Glass, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Janeane Garofalo, Scott Adsit, Chris Duffy, Elna Baker, Chris Gethard, Aparna Nancherla, Jo Firestone, Kate Berlant, Maeve Higgins, Stephin Merritt plus very special drop-in guests. Festival extras include afer show karaoke, an all female mariachi band, a bouncy castle where a stranger will fill you with compliments, a realtor to get local listings from and to curse at, Fake Emmys and more!

MATT BRAUNGER (MADTV, HOW TO BE A GROWN UP) ANNOUNCES THE DING DONGER TOUR, “BIG DUMB ANIMAL” SPECIAL PREMIERES ON NETFLIX SEPT 18

Comedian/writer/actor MATT BRAUNGER announces fall dates and is bringing a brand new hour of stand-up on THE DING DONGER TOUR which starts next Tuesday. Many fans recognize Matt from MadTV and his many other TV appearances including CONAN, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Pete Holmes Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central’s @midnight, Chelsea Lately and more.  He also hosts “The Ding Donger” podcast on Nerdist.  Matt’s newest comedy special “Big Dumb Animal” premieres on Netflix worldwide September 18. 

A Chicago native and an actor since childhood, Matt studied improv in Chicago under such luminaries as Susan Messing and Del Close and he was a founding member of the seminal improv group The Seaning. Matt also co-founded the popular Bridgetown Comedy Festival that takes place annually in Portland.

His “Big Dumb Animal” comedy special premiered on Comedy Central earlier this year and launches on Netflix this month. It is his second hour special and his third album. In 2010, he recorded his half hour Comedy Central Presents special and in 2012 released his debut hour-long special entitled “Shovel Fighter,” also released as an album.  His 2009 debut album ‘Soak Up The Night’ (Comedy Central Records) was named in iTunes REWIND Top 20 Albums of the year.

Matt’s additional TV credits include a recurring role on NBC’s UP ALL NIGHT, a series regular on MADtv, castmember of the popular TruTV series How to Be a Grown Up and appearances on MARON, Garfunkel and Oates, Family Tree, The Michael J Fox, Happy Endings, HBO’s Family Tree, United States of Tara, Pushing Daisies, Carpoolers, and more.
