The Emmy Award-winning series UNITED SHADES OF AMERICA WITH W. KAMAU BELL will premiere its 4th season on Sunday, April 28 at 10PM ET/PT. Produced by Main Event Media and All3Media America, United Shades of America is an eight-part Emmy Award-winning CNN Original Series that follows sociopolitical comedian W. Kamau Bell as he explores communities across the country to understand the unique challenges they face.
In the season four premiere, Bell heads to Dallas to learn about the business of megachurches. In subsequent episodes he will explore the experiences of Hmong Americans, black Midwesterners, white activists in Seattle, women fighting for reproductive justice in Mississippi, the LGBTQ+ community in Salt Lake City, residents of D.C. that represent a vibrant culture distinct from the politics surrounding them – and more.
“Everywhere I go – airports, coffee shops, the park with my kids – people tell me how much United Shades of America means to them,” said Bell. “They say it’s the first time they’ve seen their community portrayed authentically on TV. And I also get feedback on what could be done differently. All those conversations informed this season and you will immediately know that from the first notes of our new theme song, ‘Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing’.”

Hailed as “an unforgettable visceral experience” (Chortle, 4.5/5), LAID is an egg-themed comedy show replete with Palamides’ clowning prowess. Completely original in its concept as a surreal vision of motherhood, LAID is physical theater at its best along with plenty of jokes.
NATE is a playful and powerful exploration of masculinity and consent. A dynamic must-see, every show is fearlessly performed and different night-to-night as Palamides often allows the audience reactions to play a part in the show. NATE received a glowing 5/5 by The Times UK who praised, “it’s not quite like anything else…I’d see it again in a heartbeat.”
LAID and NATE are directed/co-devised by Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner, Dr. Brown.
Natalie Palamides is an award winning comedian known for her absurdity, unique style, commitment to her characters, and ability to make you laugh while pulling at your heartstrings. Other credits include Bob’s Burgers, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Star vs. The Forces of Evil, Corporate, Please Understand Me, and Tangled: The Series.
